Motion Plus Controller

So what gives the Motion Plus Controller it’s extreme sensitivity?

The device has an integrated dual - axis ‘tuning fork’ angular rate sensor which is used to calculate the rotational motion. Additional information that’s obtained with the help of this sensor enhances your Wii Remote’s ability to capture more complex movements than it could otherwise.

The Motion Plus Wii Controller also has a pass-through expansion port that allows the Classic Controller or Nunchuk to be used simultaneously.

When the Motion Plus Wii is attached to the Wii Remote, it extends the length of the remote by approximately 4 cm. The accessory also has a color-coded mechanical slide switch to lock the clip release.

Every Motion Plus Wii device incorporates a custom longer version of the Wii Remote Jacket to accommodate the additional length.

Motion Plus Controller - Sensitivity

The Motion Plus Controller was developed by Nintendo in collaboration with AiLive, a game development tool company. The controller uses an InvenSense IDG-600 sensor that was designed according to Nintendo’s specifications.

The sensor embedded in the Motion Plus Wii Controller is small in size, has a high dynamic range, a high humidity and temperature resistance as well as a high mechanical shock tolerance.

The sensor is what enables true 1:1 gaming when you attach the Motion Plus Wii to your Wiimote. There's a whole host of specially designed Motion Plus Games you can play with this device. Cnet gives this cool gadget rave reviews.
