MotionPlus Controller

Wii Motion Plus

MotionPlus Controller

The MotionPlus Controller is winning accolades for its extreme sensitivity.

The main feature is an integrated dual-axis ‘tuning fork’ angular rate sensor which calculates the rotational motion. With the help of this sensor your Wii Remote can capture more complex movements allowing for smoother game play.

The MotionPlus Wii also has a color-coded mechanical slide switch to lock the clip release. When it is attached to the Wiimote, it extends the length of the remote by approximately 4 cm.

Every Wii Plus incorporates a longer version of the Wii Remote Jacket to accommodate the additional length.

The device also has a pass-through expansion port that allows the Nunchuk or Classic Controller to be used simultaneously.

MotionPlus Controller - Sensitivity

The MotionPlus Controller developed by Nintendo uses an InvenSense IDG-600 sensor that was designed according to Nintendo’s specifications. It was developed in collaboration with AiLive, a game development tool company.

The tiny sensor embedded in the MotionPlus Wii Controller has a high dynamic range, high mechanical shock tolerance, and a high resistance to both humidity and temperature.

The advanced sensor is what enables true player to virtual avatar motion correspondence when you attach the MotionPlus Wii to your Wii remote. There's also numerous specially designed MotionPlus Games you can play with the Wii Motion.
